Introduction About DROTIN SUSPENSION
DROTIN SUSPENSION contains Drotaverine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antispasmodic agents. DROTIN SUSPENSION is used in children for abdominal, renal, biliary colic, spasmodic dysmenorrhoea, uterine irritability, post-operative pain, GI spasms, intestinal colic and smooth muscle spasms. It provides relief from the pain associated with irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal or kidney stones, or other gastrointestinal diseases.
Before giving DROTIN SUSPENSION inform your doctor if your child have any heart, liver or kidney disease. It is recommended for children 1-6 years of age. Give 5 ml tid, above 6 years 10 ml tid or as directed by the physician.
DROTIN SUSPENSION is for pediatric use only. The common side effects of giving DROTIN SUSPENSION are nausea, vomiting, headache or dizziness in some children although not everybody gets side effects. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

How DROTIN SUSPENSION Works
DROTIN SUSPENSION works by inhibiting the phosphodiesterase-IV enzymes and helping in restoring the balance of cyclic AMP and calcium ions at the site of spasm at smooth muscles.
How to use DROTIN SUSPENSION
Give DROTIN SUSPENSION to your child as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. The correct dose and duration for you will be decided by your doctor depending upon your child’s age, body weight and disease condition.
